The American Patriot Post

This morning as I drove to work, listening to Glenn Beck on the radio, it occurred to me that this great nation, the United States of America, is teetering on the brink of utter destruction. Not the destruction of buildings, roads and infrastructure, but something much more catastrophic – the destruction of the ideals and principles upon which the country was founded over 230 years ago. The fathers of our democracy would be spinning in their graves if they could see what has become of Washington D.C. and the democracy they risked and sacrificed so much to create.

It occurred to me that our nation has been taken over by people for whom the guiding principles that have made this the greatest nation on Earth have been replaced by an amoral lust for power and self-serving control which supercedes all other considerations – up to and including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness (except for their own of course).

Instead of those who would sacrifice their own lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to bring forth a nation based on liberty and equality, we now are governed(?) by those who would very quickly sacrifice the lives and fortunes of every current (and future) citizen, if doing so would preserve their power and control through another re-election cycle. And yet, we the governed, from whom all the power of government ultimately derives, continue to allow the madness to spiral out of control. We’re busy, we’re tired, we just don’t have the time or energy to stand and fight it. We sense that it has gone horribly wrong, but fear that we are too small to stop it.

It may already be too late to stop the madness, and reclaim our nation from the abyss into which it seems inevitably headed. Regardless, it occurred to me this morning that I owe it to my children as well as past, current and future citizens to rally whatever small contribution of force I can muster to fight back against this horrible complacency which ignores the warning signs of history, while careening down the road like a drunk driver unaware of the sharp curve and steep cliff ahead…

Anyway, it seemed like the least I could do out of respect for the efforts of all those who have sacrificed so much, so that I might live such a blessed life in this wonderful nation they created with their blood, tears and toil. We who share that respect have an absolute duty to do whatever we can to fight the madness. Hopefully it’s not too late. Hopefully this site will provide one tiny little node of activity where true American Patriots will begin to rally around the principles which made our nation so great. My intent is to provide resources that will help to enable, educate, and organize patriots across this great nation so that we can take our nation back again, starting with the next round of congressional elections in 2010. The founders understood the danger of single party rule, which is why they put checks and balances in place. With the current democratic majority in congress, the checks and balances have been removed, and this president and congress are spending our money faster than a dozen generations will be able to repay it. Worse yet, they are dedicated to ensuring that the judicial branch shares their agenda for years to come, further undermining any chance of checks and balances working as originally intended. With all three branches (Executive, Legislative, and Judicial) under their power, there will truly be no stopping them. We must elect congressional leaders in 2010 who believe in the guiding principles of America, or we may never be able to undo the damage that will result. As Glenn said this morning (and is already happening) we will awake to one nation on Monday and by Friday be in a place which is no longer recognizable as the democracy we once knew. It has already begun.

It’s time for the Silent Majority to get motivated and inspire a new generation of “community organizers” with true American principles including forgotten little notions like self-reliance, personal responsibility, and the entrepreneurial spirit that will drive the next century of American ingenuity and leadership.

It’s time to take America back, and it’s NOT going to happen if we sit on the sidelines while our nation decays into the land of the lazy, and the home of the hand-outs. We must oppose the encroaching Nanny State, Big Brother, and Big Government. Only hard-working, freedom-loving citizens sharing basic principles including a sense of morality, honor, work ethic, and responsibility will fix the economy and save the sinking ship. Big Government is an anchor, pulling the ship and all of us down with inefficiency and waste. The time to act is NOW!
